After the Nazis came to power in 1933, dismissals also began among the technical staff of the Dresden State Theaters, though they can only be partially reconstructed today. Furthermore, many technicians worked at both the Staatsschauspiel and the Semperoper. Research from other theaters shows, however, that most dismissals in 1933 were politically motivated, and vacant positions were often filled with Nazi Party members.
Paul Lindner was born on January 10, 1874, in Rosenthal (present-day Różyna), Lower Silesia, to a mason and a seamstress. He worked as a heating technician at the Saxon State Theaters and was placed into retirement on March 31, 1933. No details are known about the course of his later life.
